ASRS Replacement

The project required replacing the existing, 20-year-old Automatic Storage Retrieval System (ASRS) with a faster, state-of-the-art system. Our planning expertise and focus on quality was critical to delivering this project on time, as the entire job was completed in freezing conditions and high winds during a 12 day shutdown. To replace the old system, we dismantled the 9-story building’s end wall and built a temporary enclosure, which was removed and reinstalled each work day.
Then, we used a 200-ton crane to build a temporary track outside of the building to remove the old system, which was taken apart and recycled. The new crane, as well as high-tech warehouse management systems and PLC were then installed. The new system operates at double the speed of the old and safely stores 100 truck cabs.
