The Autohaus is a model of key design elements that will, on a going forward basis, be required for all Mercedes-Benz dealerships, service centers, and pre-owned centers. The requirements are exceedingly detailed. Almost every element of the building’s exterior and interior, from aesthetics to structure, is touched in the renovation. Together the guidelines work to instill the time-tested character of the automobile sold into the facility itself, reminding every potential and existing customer that the manufacturer’s commitment to performance and quality in its automobiles is equally applicable to the dealerships that sell and service them.
We were asked to serve as the construction manager to transform the dealership into an Autohaus. The project required a substantial renovation, including expanding the showroom, updating and modernizing all customer service areas and storefront, as well as modifying the service department to accommodate Sprinter Vans. In addition, the existing roofline was reconfigured and a multitude of architectural details incorporated into the building. All work was completed in conjunction with the ongoing business of the dealership.
